Ever wondered why our Squadron crest has a swan surrounded by flames, or why we wear the uniform...

We do a host of different activities in the Air Training Corps and we try to enable every cadet...

DofE

The ACO puts more young people through their paces with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award than any other organization. You can complete most of your DofE Award through activities you do as a cadet – and we run expeditions for cadets to complete that part of their award.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a charitable organisation dedicated to the personal development of young people from all backgrounds, its mission is
'to inspire, guide and support young people in their self-development and recognise their achievements'.
It is also a lot of fun!
The Air Cadet Organisation is the DofE Award's largest provider and at 332 'High Wycombe' Squadron we a proud to play our part in this.
There a three levels of the award; Bronze that you can start at the age of 14, Silver at 15, and Gold at 16.
There are four sections at Bronze and Silver level and five at Gold:
Volunteering - Get involved providing services to individuals or the community and make a difference to other people's lives
Physical - Get active and improve your skills and fitness in sport, dance or other physical activities - it's your choice
Skills - Find new interests and get new talents (or perfect existing ones), with increased practical and social skills
Expedition - Get outdoors and plan, train for and complete an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad - an unbeatable experience
Residential - Only at Gold level. Getting to the Gold level is a big deal and this last stage could see you going to another country, sharing tasks and activities with people you've never met.
The best part about DofE is that you get to pick what you want to do for each section.
There is a huge range of opportunities and activities that you can get involved in as a Cadet that can also count for your DofE Award and this makes it really easy to complete the Award at any and all levels when you are an Air Cadet. At 332 'High Wycombe' Squadron we actively encourage all cadets to take part the Award. Our DofE Leader and Staff Team are always available to guide you through your series of new adventures that is DofE and will help you achieve the nationally recognized Award.
